Site grid with mapped surface materials.Computer generated contour map of the dunes based on transit readings and Golden Software's Surfer Program. The map depicts the set area showing the archaeological grid (each square is 10X10 meters) and locations of formed plaster exposed on the dune surface. These surface indications suggest the location of buried material. There is no way of recovering the fragile plaster items intact without the use of very careful excavation techniques and special consolidants which will soak into the soft plaster and harden, making it possible to move the pieces without damage.

Similar maps have been generated which depict the locations of embedded lumber. These maps have allowed us to reconstruct the original alignment of the set walls.
